WHAT TO EXPECT

Amyloid Plaque PET CT Scan

Process

  • When you arrive at Perigon Imaging for your PET scan, an IV line will be started and a radioactive tracer will be administered. This allows the PET scan to show potential plaque on your brain. The tracer does not cause any side effects or pain.
  • After the radioactive tracer is injected you’ll sit for 60 minutes to allow the tracer to circulate through the bloodstream.
  • Once you’re ready to start, the scan will take only 20 minutes.
  • Results will be known within 24-48 hours.
